Construction activities in Cagayan de Oro have been continuously popping everywhere. Though a bit toned down in comparison to 2012/2013, 2014 has shown the promise of more developments for the city as well as progress to look forward to. Condominium projects dominate the landscape, as well as hotels, restos, mixed use projects and a premier mall.
Here are 2014’s biggest construction stars (as well as top projects to look forward to for 2015):
The residential component of Ayala’s downtown Centrio Mall is now moving for the 8th floor. Started earlier this year, this tower is set to surpass the current height holder Limketkai Luxe. This project’s unprecedented sales record has lead the way to the beginning of…
Avida Towers Aspira
This two-tower condominium project is set to smash CDO’s present and future height records (at 33 storeys) and will be built at the center of the city’s rising business districts. MDC is currently building the first level and strengthening foundations.
Vista Land’s entry to the city’s Condominium Market is met with widespread enthusiasm as the real estate developer introduced the twin-tower project. The 26-storey giants located inside Limketkai Center is bound to complete the live-work-play ecosystem. The North Tower is bound to start next year.
SM CDO2 Premier
CDO’s upcoming premier mall, occupying the defunct Coca-Cola plant, has shown promising progress in the last quarter of 2014. Construction equipment are now found within the compound, hinting to an early construction start next year. CDO’s second SM is said to house a hypermarket, department store, an IMAX theater, and other standard anchor stores found in most SM Premier malls.
Italpinas has announced an upcoming integrated project at uptown CDO, which includes condominiums as well as an iconic hotel, which when approved, will surely rival the rest of the city’s tallest at 30+ storeys, not to mention, set on the high plateau of Pueblo de Oro.
Projects worth noting in 2015 include Gaisano Puerto (opening on Jan 8); Ayala projects such as Alegria Hills Phase 2; Bella Vita, and Amaia Scapes; JR Borja Bridge (opening early next year), High Ridge Resto (recently reopened), G Galyx Hotel, Pioneer House (completed), Cepalco Uptown Green Building, Primavera Residences (Tower 2).
Here’s to a promising 2015 for Cagayan de Oro!
