The Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) and the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) are keen in their target and that is to begin night flight operations at Laguindingan Airport by the end of this month. “We are happy to announce that the Laguindingan Airport is now equipped for night landing operations.We hope to activate evening flights by the end of November in order to give the public more flight options as well as to decongest the airport during the day,” Department of Transportation and Communications Secretary Jun Abaya said.
Furthermore, DOTC has also set the bidding for the operations and contract maintenance in December. The project will include the development and expansion of the cargo terminal building and the runway, and the construction of a new passenger terminal building. The construction is expected to commence in mid-2016 and will be done in 3 phases.
