The National Competitiveness Council has just released the Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index for 2014. In 2013, we were ranked the most competitive city in the Philippines. This year, they have awarded Cagayan de Oro again, but we’ve placed second. Don’t fret though — we’re simply bumped down in favor of Makati, the country’s undeniable beacon of growth and progress. This makes CDO still consistently at the top of the ranks. Joining the cities on the top 3 list this year is Naga City.
Moreover, neighboring municipality Manolo Fortich ranks #9 on the municipalities index, making it the most competitive municipality in Northern Mindanao.
