For the past few years, gantry cranes are only found in the ports of Manila, Cebu, and Cagayan de Oro which is a strong proof of the unparalleled growth of these major cities in the Philippines. As one of the gateways of the south, CDO ports with the help of the Mindanao International Container Terminal have been one of the best revenue earners in the country. In 2013, the Customs District of Cagayan de Oro posted an 80% increase of its collection performance compared to 2012.
Cagayan de Oro’s growth is incredibly fast. Its growing skyline is evident. Developments have gone beyond its borders. In fact, hotels and manufacturing firms are now found in nearby towns of Misamis Oriental and Bukidnon which adds employment opportunities and further boosts the region’s purchasing power. Tagoloan has Paula’s Hotel and one of the biggest firms found in Misamis Oriental is the Coca Cola Mega Plant which is one of the biggest in the Asia Pacific Region located in the town of Villanueva.
