In line with the government’s effort on enhancing agriculture and tourism development in Northern Mindanao, a bridge will soon connect Lanao del Norte and Misamis Occidental. The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) secretary Rogelio L. Singson has ordered the full implementation of the construction of Panguil Bay Bridge. The construction will commence in the first quarter of 2015 and is expected to be completed in 2016.
This 3.6 kilometer two-lane bridge will connect Tubod, Lanao del Norte and Tangub City reducing the travel time between two places to seven minutes. This project will cost P5.193 billion.
The Panguil Bay Bridge will provide uninterrupted access from Cagayan de Oro and Iligan Cities to Tangub, Oroquieta, and Ozamis Cities and the rest of Misamis Occidental and Zamboanga Peninsula.
