The Heart of the City… Limketkai Center.
The biggest and the most famous landmark in Cagayan de Oro throughout the decades is Limketkai Center. It started as a shopping mall in the 90s that brought lots of firsts in Mindanao such as Jollibee and McDonald’s. Today, Limketkai Center has grown to a thriving central business district with mixed use developments ranging from retail, dining, office, hotel, to residential condominium.
Seen in the featured photo are the different establishments at Limketkai Center that are interconnected. From the national highway, there is a pedestrian overpass that connects Mindanao University of Science and Technology to Limketkai Gateway Tower and Limketkai Mall. The main mall is connected to Shopwise and Robinsons Mall Cagayan de Oro.
The golden tower Limketkai Luxe Hotel which is the center of attraction will soon be connected to Limketkai’s new strip of food establishments, The Gateway Park. This will be made possible through a pedestrian overpass which is currently under construction. Gateway park is where Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, Shakey’s, and the under construction Krua Thai are located.
Limketkai Center continues to evolve. Few months from now, Vista Residences will start the construction of its first high-rise residential condominium outside Metro Manila, The Loop at Limketkai Center.
A local player that has remained strong despite the presence of national and premier developers in the Philippines. Limketkai Center is definitely something that every Kagay-anon can proudly say… ATO NI BAI!
