Gantry cranes, midrise to highrise buildings, city lights, and more….
Cagayan de Oro (CDO) is a metropolis in the Southern Philippines. It is Northern Mindanao’s center for trade, industry, and education. Although this city was highly affected by major tragedies in the past like Typhoon Sendong and the July 2013 bombing but its economy has remained strong. Thanks to Kagay-anons’ resiliency.
In 2013, CDO earned the title as the Most Competitive City of the Philippines. The country’s major developers SM, Ayala, Robinsons, Filinvest, and Vista Land are already here. Many giant and equally competent real estate developers and business leaders had their humble beginnings here in the likes of A Brown, Pueblo de Oro, Italpinas Euroasian and Eco Development Corporation, and Limketkai.
A total of four universities and numerous colleges are found in CDO. Xavier University is one of the top universities in the Philippines.
Tourism is another thriving industry in this city. Known for its exciting outdoor activities, CDO is the Adventure Capital of the Philippines. It is the number one destination of White Water Rafting. Other activities include rappelling, zip-line, and caving.
Undoubtedly, CDO was, is, and will continue to grow. Its inevitable growth has spread to its neighbouring towns in Misamis Oriental and Bukidnon like Laguindingan (the home of the new Laguindingan International Airport), Tagoloan (RC Cola Plant and Mindanao International Container Terminal), Villanueva (STEAG Coal Power Plant and Coca Cola Philippines Mega Plant), El Salvador City (Asia Brewery), and Manolo Fortich (Rebisco).
A metropolitan in the making… Competent… Dynamic… Omnipotent… CDO.
