The beaches of Villanueva reminds me a lot of my childhood years. During the 90s, we frequently had our picnics there. I even had my first sun burn after our family outing in one of its resorts, if my memory serves me right, I think I was six years old then. During my sophomore years in high school (1999), we had our class outing at Aquarius Beach which gave me another sunburn. Yes, when I’m on a beach, I could spend the whole day there swimming.
That is why, these shots give me nostalgia. As the sun sets in Villanueva, the golden memories of my carefree childhood years floats in my mind. It reminds me of that kid, running nude on its beaches full of laughters, and surrounded by cheerful faces who are no longer around including my father.
Sunset in Villanueva… where everything is illuminated by the aura of nostalgia.
