THE Cagayan de Oro Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Oro Chamber) called the attention of the Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) and the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (Caap) to accelerate the installation of air navigation equipment and runway lighting facilities at the Laguindingan airport. Oro Chamber has been requesting this since last year but DOTC replied with a very alarming note that the installation of navigational equipment will be in place last quarter this year.
Oro Chamber President Efren Uy said that if the government can not address this problem the soonest then might as well airport operations should move back to Lumbia Airport. This problem has created a domino effect to Northern Mindanao. Why can’t the government see it?
