The December 2013 Nurse Licensure Examination (NLE) is over. It was held last weekend, December 7 to 8. Prior to the exam, Peak Excellence Review Center made sure that their reviewee were physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually prepared.
Last December 3, local and national lecturers of Peak Excellence Review Center reunited for a simple yet meaningful thanks giving and Christmas dinner at VIP Hotel. The theme was white Christmas and the spirit of camaraderie was all over the place. On the same night, all Peak reviewee for the December 2013 NLE released their anxiety with a beauty contest they called “Mister and Miss Baliktaran 2013.” The male and female contestants cross dressed. When they came out to the stage, the crowd went wild.
I was honored to be one of the judges together with Miss Philippines Earth 2010 finalist Kris Ortiz, Miss Peak Excellence Review Center and Miss Cagayan de Oro 2013 second runner up Keena Streegan Dacubor, Dream Board Artist David Mercado, and Peak Review Director Marivic Yamit Tabasan. We could not help but laugh out loud because the male contestants were so daring. Some were really so pretty in their curly wigs and flamboyant dress.
Just like any beauty contest, there was a Q and A portion. And they were able to respond to the questions in a substantial manner. The program also highlighted the talents in singing and dancing of Peakers from Surigao, Butuan, and Cagayan de Oro.
In the end part of the program, Mrs. Marivic Yamit Tabasan gave her last message to the board exam takers. She inspired everyone with her life story that was filled with struggles before she reached her status today.
Although I was not able to finish the program, as a lecturer, I salute this batch for coming up with a show in such a short span of time. Come to think of it, they were already too preoccupied for the board exam yet they were still able to organize a fabulous event.
With this kind of board takers and with the preparation that Peak had provided them, I would not be surprised if Peak Excellence Review Center would have an astounding passing rate again in the recently concluded December 2013 NLE.
