The long wait is over! Krispy Kreme is finally here in Cagayan de Oro at Limketkai Center. And we from Tsada Gyud together with other CDO bloggers were fortunate enough to be the first to tour around the store. We also got the chance to make our own doughnuts and of course, consume as much as we can . But what makes Krispy Kreme Limketkai really special?
A Hot Light Store and Baked Creations in one
We got the chance to speak with Ariane Valinton, the marketking manager of Krispy Kreme Philippines. She said that Krispy Kreme Limketkai is a flagship store and this is actually the first branch that is both a factory store or what they call a “Hot Light Store” and at the same time produces their “Baked Creations.”. So, what is the difference between a hot light store and baked creations? The Hot Light Store is the production area of Krispy Kreme doughnuts, the classic original glazed and the flavored ones. While the baked creations is their bakery line store where other Krispy Kreme delicacies, the Kruffins and Pull Aparts are made.
What do we mean by Kruffins and Pull Aparts? Fortunately, I jumped into this article courtesy of philstar.com that perfectly describes the two. Kruffins are Krispy Kreme’s American-style handmade muffins, filled with rich nuts, chocolate, or rich and delicious fruits. It is a muffin with a hole in it. Pull Aparts, originated from North Carolina, are rolled balls of dough, pulled apart and laid to form a doughnut-like sweet bread filled with sweet or savory varieties and baked fresh for a melt-in-your-mouth experience.
Aesthetically the first of its kind
Miss Ariane added that the store design incorporated to their Limketkai branch is the first of its kind. Including the colors used are another breakthrough of Krispy Kreme.
A stand alone store
Miss Ms. Nadia Lee Shami, the Assistant Marketing Manager of Krispy Kreme for VisMin said that their store at Limketkai is the first stand alone store in the Visayas and Mindanao area. “It is not attached to the mall so even if the mall is already closed, we are still open,” Nadia said. Krispy Kreme’s first stand alone store in the Philippines is their Greenhills branch.
So, there you go folks! Today marks the grand opening of the first Krispy Kreme in Cagayan de Oro. See you at Krispy Kreme Limketkai, at the back of McDonald’s. You may also post at Facebook or Twitter using the hash tag #KrispyKremeCDO.
