What motivated you to join Miss Cagayan de oro 2013?

It has always been my dream to become a beauty queen one day. It is also a good opportunity to showcase the grace and beauty of a Kagay-anon woman. It would be an honor for me to be crowned as the City’s ambassadress and become a youth leader that would make a difference in our city.

Who do you look up to as your role model and why?

The one I look up to as a role model is neither celebrity nor prominent public figure, but my mother. Being a good daughter to my grandparents, she is a loving and patient wife, having made many sacrifices for the good of her family. I feel a good mother is more than enough for me to look up to her as a role model.

What endearing qualities you have which is unique about you?

I am versatile and flexible. I can be anything that I aspire to, and do anything I put my mind to. I’m the type who follows a dream and make it a reality. One of them is to make a difference among the youth, being a catalyst of a positive change.

What makes cagayan de oro the most beautiful city for you?

The Kagay-anons itself is what makes the whole city beautiful. The unity and the uniqueness of each and every one of us gives identity to what is called the “City of Golden Friendship” and because we love our city, we strive to bring out the best in it and through it we preserve, we create and advance its beauty.

If crowned Miss Cagayan de Oro 2013, how will you make your reign memorable?

I would like to give voice to the unheard pleas of the indigent. I would undertake projects that would tap into the energy of youth. I will do the best in my power and privilege to provide development programs for the marginalized, to help alleviate poverty and lastly address the concern of waste management in our city, with an advocacy for green thinking.

What are the top 3 problems of cagayan de oro that needs to be addressed right away by the new City Mayor Oca Moreno?

The first priority problem in the city that I want to address to the new administration is the Cagayan River. Through the years, it has become shallow and thus prone to flooding during heavy rain. I have been through Sendong and Pablo and I believe that dredging would be of great help to prevent flash floods in the communities situated near the river. The second one is the alarming increase of crime rate in our city. We all have heard stories about car napping, hold-ups, robbery, burglars and murders around the city and if these would continue to rise, this would affect not only the safety of our citizens but tarnish the image of our law enforcement.Lastly, is the problem with our traffic, with a general lack of discipline among private and public vehicles and even pedestrians which makes our streets very disorganized.

What do you dream to become someday?

Being a nurse, I wanted to become a role model in my profession who would set standards in health care. There is great fulfillment being the one who could provide care for those who are in need and to provide it properly whether it is for my family or my patients.
