Candidate Number 4 is Miss Mary Joy A. Obsioma, 19 years old, from Barangay Tablon. Her zodiac sign is Capricorn, born on January 1, 1994. She stands 5 feet 4 inches tall. Her proud parents are Juoel Obsioma, a welder and Asoncion Obsioma, a caring mother and housewife. Currently, she is a third year AB Sociology student at Xavier University-Ateneo de Cagayan.
What motivated you to join Miss Cagayan de Oro 2013?
Aside that pageant is my passion, it is also one of my dream to be part of this prestigious pageant and show to everyone what Cagayan de Oro has and to let others know that our city is one of the best city in our country.
Who do you look up to as your role model and why?
My mother, it is through her, where I learned many things and she was the one that molds me as a better person not just for myself but also to others and despite of all the challenges that my family is facing today, I never heard her giving up but instead she always finds a reason to be strong.
What endearing qualities you have which is unique about you?
It is being determine, I don’t give up easily especially when it is all about my dreams. I won’t stop until I got to where I planned and dreamt of.
What makes Cagayan de oro the most beautiful city for you?
It is Us that makes Cagayan de Oro beautiful, It is our characteristics of being so friendly that brings spirit to the City and ofcourse with the leaders who doesn’t fail to do their task and responsibility to Us citizens and to our City.
If crowned Miss Cagayan de Oro 2013, how will you make your reign memorable?
If crowned as Ms. Cagayan de Oro I would really grab the opportunity to make it memorable not just for me but also to the City in a way of making a change through projects which are very useful and with a productive result that after a year, people can identify the change, not only the change but also remember me as an effective leader.
What are the top 3 problems of Cagayan de Oro that needs to be addressed right away by the new City Mayor Oca Moreno?
The Improper Waste Disposal, Street-children and Mentally ill people around the city.
What do you dream to become someday?
Just like the other girls, I dream to become a successful woman with a pleasant and stable job that could help my family. On the other side I also want to be a millionaire so that I could have my own business and be the boss.
