It was a memorable weekend for Tsadagyud as we took part of the press presentation and greet-n-meet of Miss Cagayan de Oro 2013 last Saturday, June 13 at Limketkai Mall Rotunda. The event was hosted by the reigning Miss Cagayan de Oro Greanne Trisha Mendoza and Mr. Owen Jaen.
The moment they came out from the backstage, I started scrutinizing each of the 12 candidates. With their opening production number that reminded me a little of Miss Universe 2009, what came to my mind was… “Why not?”
From their walk to the way they talk, most of these ladies really have the “it” factor. They owned the stage as they flaunted their trendy Mags outfits perfectly matched with Natasha footwear.
As Owen interviewed the ladies, everybody seemed relax and very comfortable on stage. I noticed that a lot of them are teachers like number 5 Amadea Lucia Piatti (first picture below) who feels overwhelmed because just few months ago, she was wearing their university school uniform as a student and now she is already one of the instructors. She is quite intimidated in class especially that she has students who are older than her.
Few of them are fresh college graduates too just like the soon to be teacher candidate number 6 Jane R. Maceda. Two weeks ago, she got hired by a multinational company. But she said that someday, she will still go back to her chosen field and help educate young minds in Impasug-ong Bukidnon, where she came from.
The youngest of them all is candidate number one Keena Alyssa Prell Streegan Dacubor (the one on the left in the photo above) . She just celebrated her debut last April 26. Earlier this year, she joined Binibining Tagoloan.
Peak Excellence Review Center joined Miss Cagayan de Oro in this momentous event. Miss Marivic Tabasan, the review director, presented to the public the topnotchers of the December 2012 and June 2013 Nurse Licensure Exam. For the record, only Peak Review Center produced topnotchers in Northern Mindanao in the recent June 2013 Nurse Licensure Examination.
After the candidates’ presentation at Limketkai Rotunda, the ladies together with the press and invited guests proceeded to the second floor of Limketkai Mall North Concourse for a cocktail party. It was also an opportunity for the press to know the candidates better. Each member of the media then selected their bet for the Darling of the Press Award which will be announced on the coronation night.
Each lady were asked about themselves and their opinion on issues concerning Cagayan de Oro.
As one of the judges, I really had a hard time. Everybody was very substantial and fluent.
Because everybody was so clever, I picked the lady who was the most charming of them all. Who? No clue, please….
That is all folks! Keep on visiting Tsadagyud for more updates of Miss Cagayan de Oro 2013.
