Yes, our city Cagayan de Oro is in the shortlist for the title as the Next Philippine Gem. This campaign will actually choose the top 10 Must See Tourist Spots in the Philippines. Initially, there were 175 tourist destinations gathered from the employees of Isla Lipana & Co. and online travel bloggers and only the top 25 were chosen to compete. They are the following: Apo Island; Apo Reef natural park; Batanes; Biri Island rock formation; Bucas Grande Island; Busuanga and Coron in Palawan; Cagayan de Oro; Calaguas Islands; Camiguin; Camotes Islands; Caramoan Islands; Danjugan Island; Donsol; Kapurpurawan rock formation in Ilocos Norte; Lake Sebu; Mount Pulag; Mt. Kanlaon; Mt. Pinatubo; Pagudpud beach; Panglao Island; Sagada (Sumaguing Caves); Siargao Island; Siquijor Island; Taytay, Palawan and; Tubbataha Reefs natural park.
Also in the list is Camiguin. Let us include Camiguin as well. Each vote will be unique, as determined by the voter’s e-mail address. The voter must vote a minimum of three, a maximum of ten sites. Voting will end on August 9. The ten sites that will receive the most number of votes will then be recognized in no particular order, except for the site that will garner the highest number of votes.
