What’s new in Cagayan de Oro?

A lot! Yes, there are lots of exciting new things coming to the city in bloom, blossom, and in boom. And most of them are new to Mindanao as well.

J.CO Donuts and Coffee: One of the hottest gossips in town is the opening of J.CO Donuts and Coffee at Ayala Centrio. Guess what? It is the first branch in Visayas and Mindanao area. Originally from Indonesia, J.CO has spread all through out Singapore, Malaysia, China, and here in the Philippines. People in Manila are going crazy and do not mind the long lines just to have a bite of this most in demand doughnut. It must be really good. And I just can not imagine the chaos that it will cause as it open doors at Centrio this Friday. Yes, you got it right! This Friday, May 10. Expect Cagayan de Oro to be filled with orange boxes that day.

Rustan’s Supermarket: Established by the Tantoco Family, Rustan’s Supermarket Cagayan de Oro is set to open at Ayala Centrio on May 17. This will be the biggest Rustan’s Supermarket in the country. It is known for its signature line ups of fresh fruits and vegetables, a wide array of premium products and ingredients that suits the discriminating taste of meticulous and discerning consumers.

Seattle’s Best Coffee: This coffee shop started brewing in Seattle’s Pier 70 in the 1970. It opened its first store in the Philippines in the year 2000 in E. Rodriguez Ave., Quezon City. In year 2002, it introduced WIFI and is the first coffee shop to offer such service. Baguio City was chosen to be the location of Seattle’s Best first provincial store in the year 2003. And it is coming to Mindanao shores as it opens two branches, one at Limketkai Center and the other one at Laguindingan International Airport.

That is all folks! We are lucky enough here in Cagayan de Oro to have all these best stores that the Philippines can offer. We do not have to carry boxes of J.CO donuts as “pasalubong” from Manila. J.CO and all these premium stores are right here in the City of Golden Friendship. Tsada gyud!
