The Culinary Institute of Cagayan de Oro (CIC), the first culinary school in Northern Mindanao had its 4th graduation ceremony last May 5, 2013 at Pilgrim Christian College Auditorium. There were seven graduates in the Baking and Pastry Arts, 22 for Culinary Arts with Holistic Nutrition, and three for Associate in Culinary and Pastry Arts.
Medals were given to students who excelled in their own field of studies. For Culinary Arts, the Most Outstanding CIC Student was awarded to Hannah Lei G. Tiro. She was also a bronze medalist in academic excellence and one of the recipients of the Best in On-the-Job Training (OJT) award. Aside from Ms. Tiro, four other students received bronze medals of academic excellence in Culinary Arts namely: Rowena C. Inocencio, Mikee Celeste T. Mendoza, Keith R. Garay, and Marhea Loren Karyz L. Bitoy. The Best in Comprehensive Exam was given to Mikee Celeste T. Mendoza. Two more students got the Best in OJT award namely Dahra Mae M. Palac and Reynalito Y. Abolencia.
For Baking and Pastry Arts, academic excellence gold medal was given to Hannah Lei G. Tiro, silver to Michelle D. Andam, and bronze medals to Melinda D. Morales and Aldae S. Nocete. Three students received Best OJT award. They were Joylie P. Paden, Melinda D. Morales, and Michelle Rowe D. Andam.
The ceremony was spearheaded by the president of CIC, Dr. Maria Emilyn D. de Marcaida, together with the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Mr. Karlo R. de Marcaida. Dr. Felina C. Young, the president of the College of the Holy Spirit Manila was the keynote speaker of the said ceremony.
