Cagayan de Oro will soon be in stripes, proudly red and white. This city will soon have the experience of the world’s innovator of casual dining. Curious? You want clue? It’s your favourite day of the week. Uhuh. I see you smiling… Yes sir! Your guess is as good as mine! Thanks God It’s Friday!
I had my first TGI Fridays experience two years ago at the Mall of Asia. And it was one of the most memorable experiences that I had. Aside from the mouth watering foods in big serving, the atmosphere just felt so good. I didn’t know why. Words couldn’t concretize how happy I was just being with friends. And the happiness was even more intensified by the energetic crew who were so jolly and friendly as if you have known each other already.
So, what’s with TGI Fridays experience that really makes it so memorable and unique? I just had a concrete answer by no less than the HR Manager of TGI Fridays Philippines, Ms. Jonaleen Nones. “In TGI Fridays, we don’t just sell food or drinks. We sell memories. In here, it’s always Friday,” she said. Aside from the juicy steaks and the saucy ribs, TGI Fridays started the idea of bottomless iced tea, refillable coffee, birthday songs, the flaring, the casual and personalized service. These are the factors that make people keep coming back to TGI Fridays.
Exclusively franchised here in the Philippines by the Bistro Group of Companies, TGI Fridays opened its first Philippine branch at Glorietta, Makati in 1994. It was the world’s biggest at that time. Eventually, it expanded outside Metro Manila with Ayala Center Cebu as its first provincial branch. Then it went to Pampanga, Davao, and now in Cagayan de Oro at the ground floor of Centrio Ayala Mall. The target opening date will be on the 18th of November which will then be the 14th branch in the Philippines.
Excited much? Of course! Who wouldn’t smile when someone would say… Thanks God It’s Friday. =)
